Computer Check

If you have internet access and email, then you probably have all you need to complete an online course with ICEP Europe. For more information check out the information on Technical requirements.

Schedule Your Time
If the course requires twenty hours to complete you need to plan twenty hours to do it. We recommend that you schedule study sessions in one or two hour blocks as research indicates multiple study sessions, spaced out, are more effective in retaining information that one or two long “cram sessions.”

Be Willing to Participate
Online courses are like all other courses; the more you give the more you get! Email allows you to participate in discussions on the class and interact with the tutors and classmates. If you have a question about some aspect of the course it is likely that others will have the same question - so ask it!

Preparation
When you login to the system, and before you start the actual coursework, spend some time on the “Getting Started” section. This will lead you through all the features of the online learning system and help you to familiarize yourself with all it has to offer. Then when you start your online studies you’ll feel comfortable and confident.

Readings
There will be a number of assigned readings. These will all be available online for your reference.

Assignments
We have very clear assessment criteria so for each module, familiarise yourself with the requirements and make sure you complete and submit all assignments before moving on to the next module.

Resources
As you work through the modules there will be resource materials to print off. You should compile these resources and create your own portfolio of the course. It is a permanent product to refer to in your daily practice.

Practice
The final stage of the learning process will happen back in your own workplace or classroom when you practise and implement the new strategies and techniques. It is only by implementing new techniques that they truly become your own.
