Responding to the Challenge of Social, Educational and Behavioural Difficulties

Course Overview

Developed by ICEP Europe, this course is designed to assist educators in meeting what is perhaps the greatest challenge of in our increasingly inclusive schools; serving the needs of students with social, emotional and behavioural problems. Issues such as violence, aggression, delinquency and substance abuse have become increasingly pervasive in schools. Overall, 10-15% of pupils in any school may present significant and serious emotional/ behaviour difficulties or be at risk of such problems. The challenge of educating these youngsters can seem daunting. But knowing what strategies work and how to implement them can help shift the balance between the risk and protective factors that shape a child's ability to thrive and promote their educational progress. This course offers you the latest in evidence-based measures that have proven effective in intervening with students who have social, emotional or behaviour problems and in creating safer, more effective schools.
